Ingredients
1.5-2poundsalmon filet
4tablespoonssalted buttermelted
½teaspooncracked black pepper
2tablespoonsfreshly chopped dill
2garlic clovesminced
1teaspoonlemon zest
1tablespoonfresh lemon juice
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aide.
In a small bowl, combine melted butter, black pepper, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
Remove salmon filet from its packaging and use a paper towel to pat it dry. If using skin-on salmon (we like skin-on best), do not cut off the skin, but clean off any fish scales that may have made their way onto the flesh.
Place salmon filet, skin side down, on prepared baking sheet.
Brush butter mixture over the top of the salmon filet and spread evenly.
Bake salmon for 10-12 minutes or until it is just beginning to turn opaque in the center and registers around 125°.
If you'd like to brown the top of the salmon filet, flip the oven on to the broil setting and broil for a couple minutes longer.
Garnish with fresh lemon juice and serve.
Notes
Do not overcook! Salmon will continue cooking when it's removed from the oven. Keep it under 140°F for a tender, juicy result.
