An easy baked salmon with just a few minutes of prep work and bursting with flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1.5-2 pound salmon filet
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped dill
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray and set aide.
  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, black pepper, dill, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
  • Remove salmon filet from its packaging and use a paper towel to pat it dry. If using skin-on salmon (we like skin-on best), do not cut off the skin, but clean off any fish scales that may have made their way onto the flesh.
  • Place salmon filet, skin side down, on prepared baking sheet.
  • Brush butter mixture over the top of the salmon filet and spread evenly.
  • Bake salmon for 10-12 minutes or until it is just beginning to turn opaque in the center and registers around 125°.
  • If you'd like to brown the top of the salmon filet, flip the oven on to the broil setting and broil for a couple minutes longer.
  • Garnish with fresh lemon juice and serve.

Notes

Do not overcook!  Salmon will continue cooking when it's removed from the oven.  Keep it under 140°F for a tender, juicy result.
