Ingredients
1cupwater
½cupsugar
1cupcranberriesfresh or frozen
1½ inchpiece of gingerpeeled
2cinnamon sticks
½teaspoonwhole allspice
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, combine water, sugar, cranberries, ginger, 2 cinnamon sticks and allspice. Stir and bring mixture to a boil.
Lower the heat to low and simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
Pour the syrup over a fine-mesh strainer set over a medium mixing bowl. Reserve the cinnamon sticks and discard the rest.
Set the syrup aside until cooled.
Use immediately or store in an airtight container or bottle in the fridge.
