How to make a basic simple syrup recipe with sugar and water.

Instructions
In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Whisk occasionally while you bring to a boil.
Stir while the sugar dissolves. The sugar mixture will thicken and become clear.
Remove from heat and cool before storing.
