Dutch Oven or heavy bottom pot
candy thermometer or oil thermometer
Medium Bowl
whisk or hand mixer
slotted spoon or other slotted utensil
Ingredients
1cupBisquick pancake mix
½cupmilk
1tablespoonvegetable oil
1egg
1packagepremade large cookie dough squares
Instructions
Fill a heavy bottom pot 3-4 inches deep with vegetable oil. Use an oil or candy thermometer in the oil to monitor the temperature. Bring oil to 375°F.
Add pancake mix, milk, vegetable oil and egg to a mixing bowl.
Whisk until most of the lumps are gone. Batter should be thick enough to coat your cookie dough balls without the batter running off. Add more mix if the batter is too runny or more milk if it is too thick. Let batter sit for 5 minutes.
Roll cookie dough squares into balls. If they're very soft, freeze for 15 minutes to make them firmer.
Roll the cookie dough ball in the pancake batter to coat completely. Gently shake off any excess batter.
Gently place battered cookie dough ball into the hot oil. Use a utensil to keep it under the oil if it bobs to the top. Flip occasionally to get an even deep golden brown on all sides.
Remove the cookie dough bite from the hot oil when it is a deep golden color. Place on a wire rack covered in paper towel to absorb excess oil. Repeat with all cookie dough bites.
Alllow to cool for 5 minutes, then eat while warm.
Notes
If your oil is too cold your cookie dough bites will absorb too much oil into the batter. If the oil is too hot your cookie dough bombs will burn on the outside. Use any type of cookie dough you like. Try peanut butter cookie dough or sugar cookie dough. The amount of cookie dough you use does not matter. Make them as small or large as you want. Remember, the smaller they are the more they'll cook in the oil. Very large cookie dough balls will not cook as much in the center.
