Air Fryer Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus

  • 10 stalks asparagus
  • 5 pieces prosciutto (bacon) thinly sliced
  • 1 tspn olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoon parmesan cheese freshly grated

Instructions

  • Wash and dry asparagus.

  • Break or cut woody ends off asparagus. Make sure they’re short enough to fit into your air fryer basket.

  • Cut prosciutto in half, lengthwise.

  • Wrap prosciutto in a spiral around asparagus stalk. Pull gently to keep it tight to the stalk.

  • Brush the tips with olive oil.

  • Sprinkle asparagus with black pepper.

  • Place prosciutto wrapped asparagus in the air fryer basket.

  • Cook at 400°F for 8 minutes or until the prosciutto looks a little crispy and the asparagus is bright green and cooked.

  • Remove from the air fryer. Sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese.

  • Serve with your favorite meat dish, baked potatoes and bread.

Notes

  • Try sprinkling your asparagus with fresh parmesan before cooking for a different taste.
  • This recipe works better with medium to thick asparagus.
  • Air fryers need space between the food items to circulate and cook properly. Do not overcrowd your air fryer. 
  • Some air fryers have a pre-heat option. Preheating may reduce the cooking time a little bit.
