In a large pot on medium-low heat melt the butter, stirring continually. Immediately add the mini marshmallows (except ½ cup) and mix until melted.
Remove from the heat and gently stir in the cereal and remaining marshmallows until coated.
Press mixture into a greased 8x8 inch baking pan.
Cool completely. Refrigerate for at least an hour then slice into squares and serve.
