You may have all of these fruity pebbles bar recipe ingredients in your refrigerator or pantry and not need to make a trip to the grocery store. See recipe card below for ingredient amounts.

    • Unsalted Butter: If you like a bit of a salty kick you could also use salted butter.
    • Marshmallows: We used mini marshmallows for this recipe, because that way you can also add some whole marshmallows to the bars with the cereal. In case you only have regular sized marshmallows on hand, you can use the same amount of those as well and skip adding whole ones.
    • Fruity Pebbles: Use any type of cereal you’d like but we love these bright and colorful Fruity Pebbles treat bars version.

TIPS FOR THE BEST FRUITY PEBBLES BARS

Follow these tips to make the best rainbow rice krispie treats.

✔️ Use only fresh ingredients. Don’t use stale cereal or marshmallows as they will make your treat bars taste stale as well.

✔️ Use mini marshmallows.  They melt quicker in the pot and you are able to add some whole marshmallows to the bars.

✔️ Grease your spatula. Grease your spatula or hands when spreading the cereal into the pan. Alternatively, use a little waxed paper to prevent it from sticking to your hands.

✔️ Don’t skip the cooling time. Fruity pebbles bars only cut well if they are properly chilled. Otherwise they are too sticky and gooey to cut.

    HOW TO STORE

Refrigerate: Leftover fruity pebbles bars can be stored in the baking dish covered with cling wrap, in an airtight container or ziploc bag in the refrigerator or on the counter at room temperature for a up to 3 days.

Freeze: Freeze these cereal treat bars in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Defrost on the counter.

For perfect results every time, here are answers to the most common questions about cooking this fruity pebbles bar recipe.

Can I use regular sized marshmallows for this recipe?

Yes, you can use regular sized marshmallows instead of mini ones. They might, however, take a bit longer to melt. We do recommend adding a couple of mini marshmallows to the bars though, as they add delicious little bursts of marshmallow to the fruity pebble bars.

What other cereals make yummy cereal treats?

You can use all your favorite krispies and pebbles cereals, such as cocoa pebbles, cocoa krispies, cinnamon sugar krispies, or simply classic rice krispies.
