I'm sure everyone who owns an air fryer has used it to cook up quick and flavorful dinners such as chicken, salmon or meatballs. Most of you have also cooked lots of vegetables like broccoli, green beans or cauliflower. But have you ever tried making the most delicious, golden brown cookie in the air fryer?

If you are craving a freshly baked cookie, but you don't want to bake a large batch of them in the oven, then air fry them. You can easily bake just one big delicious cookie for a quick and super yummy dessert for one to satisfy your cookie craving.

The biggest plus about baking a cookie in the air fryer is that it is done in only a couple of minutes. Get 2 portions of refrigerator peanut butter cookie dough, shape them into one big cookie and place it on a piece of parchment paper. Then cook it in the air fryer for about 7 minutes. That's it! No messy dough making or long preheating of the oven necessary. It's like delicious cookie magic!

Can You Use Parchment Paper to Cook Cookies in an Air Fryer?

If you are looking for an alternative to parchment paper, silicone air fryer mats are also a great way to protect your air fryer basket. Before you use parchment paper in your air fryer, read how to use it and how to avoid fires.

Can You Use Foil to Cook Cookies in an Air Fryer?

In general, aluminum foil is acceptable to use in an air fryer. Read all about best practices for foil in an air fryer before using it. We don't recommend using foil with cookies because they don't turn out as well.

Do You Have to Use Refrigerator Cookie Dough?

You can either use refrigerator cookie dough or homemade cookie dough. In this recipe we opted for pre-made peanut butter cookie dough, as it is a very quick and convenient way to make just one big cookie. You can, of course, also make your favorite homemade cookie dough and bake one yummy cookie. Then freeze the rest of your dough in individual portions for easy use in the future. If you want to make more than one cookie (one tablespoon of cookie dough size) read how to make cookies in the air fryer.

    Our Favorite Cookie Recipes

If you're looking for a good air fryer cookie recipe, here are some of our favorite cookie recipes. All of these have all-purpose flour, white sugar, brown sugar, eggs, butter, baking powder, baking soda, vanilla extract and other ingredients. Just stir up the dough in a mixing bowl, divide into 2-3 tablespoon size balls (use a cookie scoop if you have one). Lay on a baking sheet with parchment paper and freeze for 1 hour. Then put all the cookie dough balls into a ziplock bag and freeze. You can pull one ball out at a time to cook over the next 3 months!

Better Than Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookies: These are the tastiest chocolate chip cookies! Highly recommend. Add a little sea salt to the top after cooking, for the tastiest air fryer chocolate chip cookies! Make a small batch or freeze with the above instructions.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies: These classic white chocolate chips cookies are a hit around here. They're bursting with flavor.

Coconut Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies: If you love Almond Joy, you'll love these! These chocolate chip cookies have almonds and coconut inside.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies: These are the best kind of cookies, in my opinion! You can't get better than the chocolate peanut butter combo! These have chocolate chips and peanut butter chips, as well as peanut butter.

    Common Questions

Can you make just one cookie in an air fryer?

Yes, you definitely can! There is no need to wait around for company any more. Just take a 2 tablespoon sized ball of cookie dough, shape it, set it on a piece of parchment paper and cook it up in the air fryer. You will be ready to eat your warm and delicious personal cookie in only a couple of minutes.

What temperature do you cook a cookie in an air fryer?

We recommend baking cookies in the air fryer at 300ºF. This temperature ensures that your cookies don't get overly brown before they are cooked through. You can also bake them at a higher temperature such as 320-350ºF, but you will have to reduce cooking time to 5-6 minutes. Start checking them at the 5 minute mark to make sure they don't get too brown.
