CLEAN AND DRY: give your potatoes a good scrub under running water to get all dirt off the skin of the potato. Pat dry. POKE POTATOES: Poke potatoes 6-8 times with a fork to vent the potato. BRUSH WITH OIL: Use a basting brush (or your hands) to coat your potatoes with oil. SPRINKLE SALT: Sprinkle salt onto potato skins. WRAP: Wrap potato in aluminum foil (optional). Place potatoes into the Crock Pot and cover with a lid. COOK: Cook on low for 8 hours. Check to see if the potatoes are cooked through by opening the foil of one potato and poking with a fork. If the fork inserts into the potato easily the potatoes are cooked. If there is resistance and they are still a bit hard, cover again and cook for an additional 1-2 hours. ⚠️ TIPS FOR MAKING GREAT BAKED POTATOES ✔️ Wash your potatoes well with water and a brush before cooking to remove all the dirt. ✔️ Don’t skip the foil! While we don’t recommend using foil on oven baked potatoes, we’ve tested them and prefer to use foil in a crockpot. This will prevent your potatoes from becoming as soggy as they get without foil. Unwrapped potatoes take an hour longer to cook as well. ✔️ Seasoning the potato before cooking makes a big difference. If you love to eat the skins, don’t skip oiling and salting them before cooking. ✔️ Unwrap the baked potatoes and use your knife to slice down the center. Use a fork or knife to fluff up the potato insides. Top with your favorite baked potato toppings, including butter, salt and pepper, shredded cheese, sour cream, bacon, chives or chili. STORAGE TIPS Refrigerate: Baked potatoes can be stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. While the skin may not be as crispy, they will still taste just as good. Freeze: You can freeze baked potatoes for up to a month. Before freezing, make sure your potatoes are fully cooled and don’t contain any toppings. Wrap them in foil or plastic wrap, ensuring no part of the potato is exposed to air. Place in a sealed freezer bag without any excess air. Defrosting: Thaw in the refrigerator overnight or, for faster results, thaw in the microwave. Reheating: You can reheat potatoes in your air fryer at 400 until heated or in a microwave.
