<p><strong>Variations and Substitutions</strong></p>



<p>Berries: Substitute fresh blackberries with frozen ones, however, make sure to add some extra baking time when using frozen fruit. You can also use other fresh berries such as raspberries, blueberries or strawberries. Moreover, a mixed berry dump cake would also be delicious. You could even dry chopped apples or peaches. Ripe and juicy berries and fruit make the best cake mix cobbler. So pick whatever is in season at the farmer&rsquo;s market. </p>



<p>Cake Mix: We love using yellow cake mix for this easy dump cake recipe, but you can also use vanilla cake mix or chocolate cake mix </p>



<p>Brown Sugar: The blackberries, whether fresh or frozen, will most likely need some sweetener. If you have especially sweet berries you can omit the sugar or decrease the amount of sugar. If you prefer, you can substitute white granulated sugar for the brown sugar or use a sugar substitute.</p>

<p><strong>Refrigerate: </strong>After the blackberry and apple crumble has been baked and cooled, fruit crumble leftovers can be covered in plastic wrap or stored in an airtight container or ziploc bag and refrigerated for about 5 days. </p>



<p><strong>Freeze: </strong>After it&rsquo;s baked and cooled, wrap well in cling wrap and foil to prevent freezer-burn. Additionally you can transfer leftover apple blackberry crisp to a freezer safe container or freezer bag. Freeze the crumble for up to three months.</p>



<p><strong>Defrosting: </strong>Defrost your crumble&nbsp;overnight in the fridge or at room temperature for a couple of hours. This works whether the apple crumble is baked or unbaked.</p>

This blackberry gin cocktail recipe, with sweetened blackberries, gin, prosecco and a sprig of thyme, is delicious whether you make it with alcohol or without. Even though, this blackberry gin spritzer is the perfect drink for hot summer days, you&rsquo;ll love it any time of year.</p>

<p>Gin: We used Bombay Sapphire for this easy cocktail recipe, but you can use any dry gin you prefer. Moreover you can substitute citrus vodka, white rum or even bourbon whiskey, if you prefer.</p>



<p>Simple Syrup: You can use store-bought simple syrup or make your own. It is really incredibly easy to make <a href="https://familydinners.com/how-long-does-simple-syrup-last/#recipe">homemade simple syrup</a>. All you need is a small saucepan, 1 cup of white sugar and 1 cup water. </p>



<p>Natural Sweetness: In case you don&rsquo;t want to use sugar syrup in your refreshing drink, you can add a bit of sweetness with maple syrup or agave nectar, for example. </p>



<p>Berries: Substitute fresh berries, such as raspberries, or strawberries, for example.  Additionally, really ripe peaches would work great as well. </p>



<p>Citrus: Try adding a splash of fresh lemon juice or fresh lime juice to this yummy blackberry bramble cocktail.</p>



<p><strong>How To Make Non-Alcoholic</strong></p>



<p>Make this fresh blackberry cocktail into a mocktail by skipping the gin and substituting sparkling water (We love using La Croix water.) for the champagne. Additionally you could try club soda, soda water or even ginger ale or ginger beer instead of sparkling wine. </p>
