Jump to Recipe MAKE MARINADE: Combine all of the spices, chipotle peppers, oil, adobo sauce, shallot, and honey into the food processor or high speed blender. ADD MARINADE TO CHICKEN: Pour the marinade into a ziplock bag or into a large bowl over the chicken. Mix or toss so the chicken is fully covered. REFRIGERATE: Place the chipotle chicken wings (covered in the marinade mixture) into to fridge for at least 30 minutes. KITCHEN TIPTo marinate the chicken ahead of time, you can allow it to sit in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. PREHEAT AIR FRYER: Allow the air fryer to preheat to 380 degrees. Spray the bottom of the basket with non stick cooking spray. KITCHEN TIPAlternatively, you could use air fryer parchment paper liners instead of non stick spray. COOKING TIME: Add the chicken to the basket in a single layer. Spray the tops of the wingettes with vegetable oil, olive oil, or cooking spray. Air fry for 8 minutes, then flip and cook for another 7 minutes. KITCHEN TIPUse a meat thermometer to make sure the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F. FINISH: Once the first batch has finished cooking, remove them from the basket and serve with your favorite dipping sauce, along with celery and carrots. Repeat until all wings have been cooked. KITCHEN TIPTo keep the wings warm while you finish making the rest, place your oven on the lowest heat setting and put them on a baking pan. Keep them in a single layer so they stay crispy. STORAGE TIPS Storing your food properly is important to prevent spoiling or food poisoning. Refrigerate: Store air fryer chipotle chicken wings in an airtight container or ziploc bag and refrigerate for up to 3 days if you can’t eat it the next day. Freeze: Store in an airtight, freezer safe, container. If you’re storing in a zip top plastic bag, try to get as much air out as possible. Freeze for up to 3 months.
